A Die is Cast, a play devised by Wheaton’s 2024 senior theatre majors in their Ensemble Experiments class, follows an unlikely group of friends brought together by a game of DND. Design Notes
My design of A Die is Cast reflects the collaborative nature of the show itself. In this design, I worked with the cast and crew to create a design that matched their vision. Each of the characters that the group created, just as their actors, had such individuality and each had their own quest within the story. To highlight the importance of each in the ensemble, I introduced a color that represented each of the characters in the prologue. As the show progressed, in moments meant to highlight a particular character, I wove in their color as a symbol of their passage.
